THE PROJECT
The Apply to Mayfest flyer campaign was designed to encourage members of the Northwestern student body to apply to the organization that puts on the largest student-run music festival in nation. The objective was simple, design eye-catching, Mayfest-branded material that embodies the spirit of the organization.
THE PROCESS
The process began by selecting a compilation of high energy photographs (taken by Justin Barbin Photography) which capture a glimpse of Mayfest’s members experience on Dillo Day. Then, I chose the focal point of each image extracting the color from the remainder of the image. Finally, in accordance with Mayfest’s brand standards, I incorporated the organization’s vibrant blue and typography pulled from their logo throughout each flyer. The campaign was executed through the use of guerrilla marketing across campus, social media, and word of mouth advertising.
THE PRODUCT
The product was a successful marketing campaign that allowed Mayfest to reach new sectors of campus that the organization failed to reach in the past, doubling the size and diversity of its applicant pool.
